You are not your job

This is just one act by one employee
Tired of supporting a bankrupt system
Which only promotes the worst of us

An entire generation

Capitalism is bankrupt and burning what little is left
Our labour is worthless, and still we are made to toil
Whilst our needs, resources and attention is stolen
Physical and emotional soil sifted and depleted for profit

1/9

pumping gas

We are denied any alternatives, peace, sustainability
Blinded by a rabid, ravenous oligarchy
Crippled by their fear and hatred
Insisting the insanity of commerce over community

2/9

waiting tables

The system will not change, so we need to pick it apart
Stitch by stitch, the emperor’s birthday suit is revealed
A grotesque caricature of desire and impotency
And we find the end of our thread

3/9

slaves with white collars

Tearing at the seams, fraying at the edges
Woven by needles of needlessness
The fruits of labour knitted together
In a patchwork of gainless employment

4/9

Advertising has us

A fabrication of nation
Tethered in the service of industries
Automating our subjugation to the
Self-serving and undeserving

5/9

chasing cars and clothes

There will be no group to join, no union of mass protest
All corrupted, criminalised, deemed demons of terror
By the machinations of our masters
Which wage war on our culture and poison our nature

6/9

working jobs we hate

Yet here we find our selves, where ‘you’ is ‘us’
Pushed beyond collective
Isolated, yet universal
You are the movement

7/9

so we can buy shit

The revolution will not be televised
We can only act upon own truth
Our reality will be reframed or denied
Be your rebellion, one stitch at a time

8/9

we don't need.

Why play a game we’re set to lose
Force-fed a diet of dependancy
Determine your food, medicine and media
Break the system that values only commodity

9/9

Subvertuously

Review your contractual obligations
Find your subvertuousity clause
Correct the corruption of your labour
Blow your whistle, return what’s stolen

Thank you

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion
